The story behind this Christmas single -
King's Junior Division singers recorded their own charity Christmas single ‘I’m Thinking Of You This Christmas' for Destiny Garden School in Mombasa, Kenya, in December 2010.
Director of Music at King's Junior Division, Alison Lea, has been a keen supporter of Destiny Children right from when it first started, and she has composed this lovely Christmas song especially for the King’s children to sing as they will be thinking of Destiny Garden School Children this Christmas.
Alison said: 'Our pupils have been inspired by the Destiny Children charity. For example in April 2010 they helped to supply every child in Destiny Garden School with a full pencil case after learning that their counterparts in Kenya pupils kept hold off their pencils all day in a tight fist, because they were so expensive and such a precious resource. This year they have filled 240 'party bags' for all the DGS children. We all wanted to show the children in Kenya that we were literally thinking of them this Christmas and raise much needed funds in the process.'
Many of King's Junior Division pupils are now regular pen-pals with their counterparts in Mombasa and have recorded their Christmas song not only to raise money but as a sign of their friendship.
